AS GOOD AS GOLD

Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

Regarding the candle sleeves, the feedback is tremendous. At a wedding this weekend, I introduced kaarsKoker to four ladies each of whom were spray-painting their chandelier candle sleeves gold! “Why gold?” I wondered. Gold is grand. Gold is disco. People who want gold in their life do not settle for white plastic. This I respect. A perfect gold has no green undertone, no red undertone but is yellow and slightly orange with that special twinkle. Solid Gold kaarsKoker was the only color that had more than one dedicated sample completed. Gold is not bronze. Gold is not brass. Gold is Gold. Thanks to kaarsKoker, we’re golden.

DAILY DOSE OF COLOR

Wednesday, November 5th, 2008

I love Seattle for Pike Place Market, dahlias, Smith and the mountains. As a designer, I struggle with the largely adopted Northwest color palette of sage, mushroom, gray and taupe (What is a mushroom if not taupe?). Although gray I totally get, living here is a bit like a reverse “Alice In Wonderland” at times. In a recent entry for the domino blog daily dose, Nick Olsen banished his affection for muddy colors to adopt fresh, colorful graphic printed textiles. Wait’ll he gets a dose of the kokers. kaarsKoker brings an artist’s pallet to any room and on a budget. The decorative candle sleeves transform the room’s palette with the kokers’ unique patterns, popping the room’s light fixtures as highlighted art. The unique candle sleeves bring more than a dose of color; the candle covers transform the room into the “Alice in Wonderland” of interior design.
